- Teams deploy with all necessary equipment and supplies to ensure self-sufficient continuity of security service
- Teams have responded to and operated successfully in some of the most serious disaster areas and critical incidents in our nation’s history, including Hurricane Katrina ground zero
How the NSRT Works
The National Special Response Team (NSRT) is a national level program able to focus significant resources locally. The NSRT:
- Forms at the first of every year when Valor volunteers from every region in the country commit to months of training and development and a willingness to respond to serious disasters or critical incidents anytime and anywhere
- Is organized into regional teams led by Valor Regional Vice Presidents and other management level personnel
- Personnel train in emergency management, critical incident response and disaster response and undergo a variety of physical preparations from equipment acquisition to vaccination prior to response
- Is able to operate on a completely self-sufficient camping basis in disaster areas where public services and agencies are not yet available
- Is activated by Valor national management oftentimes in advance of an anticipated condition or event
The NSRT has responded very successfully to numerous disaster and emergency situations of a wide variety in support of – or sometimes in replacement – on site operations and personnel.
